Services include planning and schedule (work breakdown structure) metrics and tools, collecting performance data (installed quantities, expended labour hours, and other progress measurements for direct hire and subcontract work), tracking data (daily cost compilation and monitoring), analysing (earned value, productivity and risk analysis), and reporting.
Identifies and tracks all changes or potential changes to the project scope, ensuring estimates of cost changes and schedule impact are given visibility with the customer and project management.
Integrates schedule data and reporting with the company's accounting and management information systems to facilitate meeting company performance and financial goals.
May also be involved in change control management, document control management, and critical path method network analysis.
Identifies and analyzes schedule variances and recommends associated corrective actions. Presents project schedule status to the Project Manager and customer.
Assists in the development of work breakdown structures (WBS) and helps to insure that project coding are effectively used for all cornerstone applications.
Works with the Proposal Manager to produce effective cost/schedule input for proposals.
Assists the project team in the preparation of annual rescheduling and/or bottoms up cost estimates.
Assists the legal team in the preparation of company claims and/or analysis of contractor claims.
Assists in the evaluation of subcontractor bids.
Possesses strong computer skills with a developing knowledge of company cornerstone applications.
Possesses the ability to participate in project execution reviews and audits.
Evaluates manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Education: Bachelors degree in engineering, construction, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience. Entrants to this position generally possess 10+ years of experience with engineering, procurement and construction projects or operating industrial facilities in a schedule position. Some field experience required with 4+ years preferred.
Competent and demonstrable knowledge of using Primavera P6 Planning toolset in an integrated and global environment.
Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.
Certification: Pursuit of PSP (Planning and Scheduling Professional) or EVP (Earned Value Professional) and/or PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification is encouraged.
