Job Description
A Site Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the mechanical aspects of construction projects on-site. This role involves ensuring that all mechanical systems and components are installed correctly, functioning efficiently, and comply with design specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision: Oversee the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment.
Quality Control: Ensure that all mechanical work meets the required standards and specifications.
Coordination: Work closely with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to resolve any mechanical issues that arise during construction.
Compliance: Ensure all mechanical installations comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any mechanical issues or conflicts on-site, making necessary adjustments to plans.
Reporting: Prepare and present progress reports to clients and stakeholders, highlighting any deviations from the plan and proposed solutions.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of site activities, including daily logs, inspection reports, and change orders.
Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with the mechanical aspects of the project.
Specific Skills Required
Site experience in estimation, installation and all site activities related to all Mechanical works for construction of large-scale building projects.
Familiar with all the Mechanical Engineering methodologies as well as the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables, tools and manpower allocations related to Mechanical works for building projects.
Well versed in interpreting and executing Mechanical related drawings.
Have the knowledge of the related Authorities’ requirements
High-Rise Residential and Commercial buildings experience required with strong background in start-up, execution and handover of major projects.
Qualifications
Qualification
- Education Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or equivalent Plus an advanced post Graduate Degree and membership of a recognized institution ( i.e. PE/Peng, CEng Etc.) would be preferred. LEED GA or AP certifications would be a plus for MEP discipline
Experience
- Minimum 10 years demonstrable experience in the all aspects of supervision and project administration of the mechanical works related to large-scale projects within Middle East in the consulting industry
